Custom Design Process

The jewellery you wear reflects your style and personality. While this process may seem daunting I am here to simplify if for you. I will work together with you to develop a unique design that reflects your vision and budget. As a trained goldsmith I will not only make sure your style is reflected in the piece but is also structurally and technically sound.

Step 1: Meeting & Consultation

Contact me to set up a meeting to discuss your ideas and budget. At this meeting I will get to know you, your style and your lifestyle. All important elements towards the final piece. If you have any existing materials or pieces you'd like to reuse this is a good time to bring them in.  I will follow up our consultation with a quote, often with multiple options. We will be collaborating together one-on-one to ensure that you are confident each step of the way. If you decide that you would like to move forward I will require a deposit of 50% of the total (unless otherwise stated) to begin work.

Step 2: Concept

I will take your ideas, drawings and images and create a design concept. I will present a few ideas that are hand sketched. Once the concept is chosen and refined it is either translated by being hand carved in wax or created in CAD. If CAD is our path you will receive a technical drawing and rendering before a wax model is presented.

If they are part of the design than this process also involves choosing diamonds and/or gemstones. Stones will be chosen that fit into your desires and budget.

Step 3: Approval and Finished Piece

Once we receive your final approval your piece is then cast, using the Lost Wax Method, in your metal choice. Your gemstones are then precisely set by a master setter with over 30 years of experience. Your piece then receives a final inspection, cleaning and polishing.

And finally your piece is ready! When you come in to pick up your piece it will be presented to you.
