Kyle decided to propose to Erin on an upcoming trip to Ireland. The catch was that they were leaving in 1 week. Kyle had an idea of the design he wanted to get but with the time contraints and not being 100% sure of the design I advised him to purchase a "borrowed" ring to propose with. The "borrowed" ring was in Sterling Silver and Cubic Zirconia so there was also less stress travelling with it.
Once Erin said yes and they returned from their once and a life time trip we all worked together designing Erin's ring. Turns out we were pretty close with the borrowed ring but there were a few tweaks and choosing the right centre stone that needed to be done.

Even though Olivia and her husband had already been married a few years they never bothered with an Engagement Ring. When Olivia inherited some diamonds from her Great Grandmother she knew it was time.
The diamond was an antique European Cut diamond. I took the diamond and got it appraised so that we knew everything about it before we chose the design.
Olivia loved the classic 6 Prong solitaire design which actually ended up working the best. There was a slight chip on the girdle of the diamond so having 6 prongs allowed us to set the diamond in a way that protected the chipped section and also covered it from view.

Sarah wasn't wearing her wedding rings and engagement ring anymore because her style had changed. Reusing the gold from her existing rings was very important to Sarah as they had been blessed.
We reused her diamond in to a newer cup style setting engagement ring and the smaller diamonds were set sporadically around a yellow gold hammered band. The set of three is complete with a 14k white gold hammered band. All three rings are hand carved in wax and cast in yellow or white gold.

Shannon and Ben, both natives of Toronto, were living in life in Nigeria. During a visit home Ben presented Shannon with a solitaire white diamond ring (from a family earring) as a sign of commitment. Ben was completely aware that one day Shannon would design the ring of her dreams with a black diamond.
At an Art Market Shannon bought a pair of my earrings and approached me about my custom designed cristina ring. We quickly hit it off and between meetings over coffee (when in Toronto), finding the perfect and rare Black Emerald Cut Diamond, lots of emails and the occassional long distance phone call this ring was designed.
Shannon is a woman who knows her style. At our first meeting she put together a Powerpoint with pictures of dresses, jewellery, architecture and a painting that she was attracted to. The milgrain around each stone gave the ring the same delicacy as the lace dress and the side profile of the ring was designed to look like a city scape.
I love everything about this ring, especially how proud Shannon is to wear it.

Sian knew her original engagement ring (see bottom photo) was too traditional so after several years of marriage she knew it was time to change that.
Sian as a working mother desired a ring that encompassed her sense of clean style and her working lifestyle. She wanted to be able to wear her new ring with a few alternatives, her grandfathers wider yellow gold band, her white gold wedding band and her mothers white gold wedding band.
We played around with a few different designs and when we were ready to move forward with a wide band with the diamond set in we both hesitated. Something didn't feel right. Sian was in the middle of home renos anyway so we walked away from the design process for a few months.
When the universe called us together again Sian's sense of what she was looking for changed slightly. She still wanted a ring with clean lines but wanted to add a little femininity to it. We did this by designing a ring with a slimmer band and the setting for the diamond more of a focus.

Brooke knew exactly what she wanted. Nick knowing this about her proposed with a diamond which allowed Brooke the pleasure to design her own ring.
On our first meeting Brooke brought pictures of rings she liked. Generally custom is a lot of "I like this about that ring and this about that ring" and it's a matter of putting them together and making them my design.
This is the result of that with Brooke.

Nick knew that if some how his ring ended up in a pile of other rings that he wanted to recognize it instantly.
Nick and Brooke chose the lovely sentiment of having each other's fingerprints inside their bands. They did this with an ink pad and lots of paper, I still smile when I visualize them doing this over a glass of wine one evening.
Nick also wanted a design element on the outside of his band. His father had four lines engraved in his band (see bottom photo). Nick sent me a picture of the ring and we chose to only put three of the four lines.
Whenever any ring has three of something (usually diamonds) I always like to think of it as a couples past, present and future, a perfect sentiment for any marriage.
